  • DROP LENGTH

    1. For headings: PENCIL PLEAT | DOUBLE PLEAT | TRIPLE PLEAT – Drop of your curtains is measured from the bottom of the curtain rings, down to where you want your curtains to finish. (Point C to point D – see diagram).
    2. For headings: TAB TOPS | ROD POCKET – Drop of your curtains is measured from the top of the pole, down to where you want your curtains to finish. (Point E to point D – see diagram).
    3. For heading: FLAT PANEL – Drop of your curtains is measured from the bottom of the curtain clip, down to where you want your curtain to finish. (Point F to point D – see diagram).
  • WIDTH & HEADING HEIGHT

    Width:

Pole width is the measurement of the distance between the two decorative finials. (Point A to point B - see diagram).

    Heading Height:

Heading height, where applicable, for headings: PENCIL PLEAT | DOUBLE PLEAT | TRIPLE PLEAT | ROD POCKET - is the measurement from the bottom of the curtain rings, up to where you want the top of your curtain to start. This adds height to the pleats and extends the curtain to hide the gap between pole and the curtain top. (Point G to point H - see diagram).

  • WIDTH & DROP LENGTH

Track is only suitable for headings: PENCIL PLEAT | DOUBLE PLEAT | TRIPLE PLEAT | FLAT PANEL.

    Width:

Track width is the measurement of the whole track (Point A to point B – see diagram).

    Drop Length:

Drop is measured from the bottom of the track gliders, down to where you want your curtain to finish. (Point C to point D – see diagram).

  • HEADING HEIGHT

Heading height, where applicable, for headings: PENCIL PLEAT | DOUBLE PLEAT | TRIPLE PLEAT - is the measurement from the bottom of the glider, up to where you want the top of your curtain to start. This adds height to the pleats and extends the curtain to hide the gap between the pole and the curtain top. (Point E to point F – see diagram).

Useful tips

Please note that below information is based on our many years of experience with customers and these are not guidelines for ordering curtains. Each customer is unique and has unique visions and requirements.

  • On average pole width should be 40cm wider than the window.
  • On average, to achieve paddling effect where curtains sit on the floor, we recommend adding extra 15-20cm to the drop.
  • When measuring drop for curtains we always recommend measuring left, right and center to ensure your pole/track is positioned perfectly parallel to the floor to avoid uneven drop especially if curtains drop all the way to the floor.
  • If curtain drop is right to the floor we recommend taking 1cm off of the drop to ensure the bottom of the curtain sits nicely and just slightly above the floor.
  • For extra gather on flat panel curtains which we do not add any fullness to, we recommend
adding extra half of your width. For example if curtain pole/track width is 100cm, state curtain pole/track width as 150cm. This is called ‘’fullness ratio 1.5’’. If you’d like minimal gather, you can choose ‘’fullness ratio 1.25’’ which means 100cm x 1.25 = 125cm.
  • Heading height is recommended at between 2 to 6cm, anything higher may start collapsing downwards.
